I do agree every glance, every handshake doesn't need to mean something. I also think that it doesn't have to progress the plot to be used. Cameron chews a piece of flavored gum at the beginning of the story and finds the same flavor in the middle that helps ease some emotional distress later.

A lighter dialogue moment for today. The character of Zola was supposed to be more of a walk-on role, but she snuck up on me and stuck around 🙂

I feel like I'm an abuser of this type of writing. I won't necessarily dwell on a particular element, but when I bring something up I do my best to make it relevant down the line. The "aha!" or "what?!" makes it worth it. I also believe it makes Red Herrings more effective in the same story.

I hadn't considered that, but you're right!

The first time I'd ever seen John Boyega in a film was in the British SFF "Attack The Block". The next time I saw him was in Star Wars and I was excited to see where his character would go. As unfortunately as that ended up, he's proven his skills time and again.

This whole snippet gives me "The Giver" vibes, in a good way of course.
