I appear to live rent free in the minds of some of my Republican colleagues.

I wish that they would spend even a fraction of the time that they spend thinking about me, thinking about how to lower costs for American families.

Some people say stories will be told about how one man destroyed this country.

I don’t think so.

I believe stories will be told about how the people of this country stood up to stop him.

If you only watch one video today, let it be this one.

And since Little Marco doesn’t want us to remember this, please repost it so others can see what a raging hypocrite he is.

This was posted from Trump’s own Truth Social account.

After the death of tens of thousands of innocent children. I’ve been struggling to find the words to describe just how utter disgusting this is. I just can’t find any.

I get many are bitter but I'm not entertaining the "well...that's what X voted for" every time I post about an issue. You've no idea how individuals voted and the constant dismissal of entire swaths of our country based on exit polls means we'll be pointing fingers in the gulag instead of fighting.

As a journalist who covers extremism at the local level, I think it’s a mistake to view Trump’s Napoleonic statement as solely about presidential power. Consider if it’s interpreted as a wink and a nod for any extremist to act outside the law to β€œsave” the country as they see fit

Together, Trump and Musk are trying to rewrite the rules of the American system.
They are trying to instantiate an anti-constitutional theory of executive power that would make the president supreme over all other branches of government.
They are doing so in service of a plutocratic agenda of austerity and the upward redistribution of wealth. And the longer Congress stands by, the more this is fixed in place.

Again, if Musk had been elected to some office, this would still be one of the worst abuses of executive power in American history. No one in the executive branch has the legal authority to unilaterally cancel congressional appropriations. No one has the legal authority to turn the Treasury payments system into a means of political retribution. No one has the authority to summarily dismiss civil servants without cause. No one has the authority to take down and scrub government websites of public data, itself paid for by American taxpayers. And no private citizen has the authority to access the sensitive data of American citizens for either information gathering or their own, unknown purposes.
The thing, of course, is that Musk isn't elected. He is a private citizen. He was neither confirmed for a cabinet job nor formally appointed to a high-level position within the administration. He does not even have a presidential commission; he has been designated a "special government employee." Musk says that he is acting on the authority of the president of the United States. Clear-eyed, direct NYT op-ed by @jamellebouie.net using the kind of non-euphemistic language the headlines should embrace:

Any four Republican Senators could stop this at any time simply by threatening to block all action (or even caucus with the Democrats) if Trump doesn't make certain concessions.

They won't, but that should be a much bigger story than whether the Democrats are doing everything that *they* can.

A bird's-eye view of a former Auschwitz II-Birkenau camp showing a wide dirt pathway flanked by parallel rows of barbed-wire fences. Groups of visitors walk along the path, surrounded by the remnants of brick structures and barracks, now reduced to foundations. Green grass contrasts with the somber history of the site, as the path leads toward a guard tower in the distance.

Auschwitz was at the end of a long process. It did not start from gas chambers.

This hatred was gradually developed by humans. From ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder.

Auschwitz took time.

A small act of gratitude for a big voice of truthβ€”I made a donation to Washington National Cathedral in honor of the Rt. Rev. Marianne Budde. She speaks truth to power, and she is a hero. Please consider doing the same!

Make sure to put her name in the recognition box:

WOW! You've got to watch all of this.

A priest just confronted Trump's fascism to his face. She's so incredibly brave.

You may not understand why, but the healthcare insurance and PBM contracts YOU have signed for Tesla, SpaceX , @X, along with CEOs of other big companies , have more impact on healthcare costs and quality of care in this country, than anything you can do with DOGE
