And as you say, people who write those kinds of sentiments (it's just summer, duh!) most likely exist in AC all day every day.

11.08.2025 15:19 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Yeahhhh, I don't think it's normal to feel like an ant under a magnifying glass in Eastern Canada. Not wanting to go outside when it's sunny out isn't something I really wanna get used to!
11.08.2025 14:53 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Sir, have you heard the good word? That word is β¨οΈBICYCLEβ¨οΈ
It's like a mix of walking and driving, because it's easy and you can go faster, but with none of the pesky traffic and storage issues.
Give a β¨οΈBICYCLEβ¨οΈ a try! You might just like it!

(But then you still need a pylon on the hazard itself so someone doesn't get hurt π€¦πΌββοΈ)
11.08.2025 13:46 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I'm the hybrid of "got my license at 16" and "never owned a car".
I appreciate having the skill and ability, but I don't wanna do it all the time.
Who in their right minds don't want a sidewalk in front of their house?!?! Move to a rural area if you're that anti-social, holy jeepers.

11.08.2025 01:33 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Everything's coming together for my first non-solo camping trip in ~10 years, coming up next week.
And by everything, I mostly mean menu plans.
My Centretown deck thermometer reached 38Β° today.
I'm just glad the humidity wasn't 100%!
Okay but if it's black sesame flavoured and served with a chicken or fish burger, I can see that being really tasty.
10.08.2025 21:54 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It is uncomfortably hot out.
A quick run to GT has melted me.
Maybe waiting until after dark to do round 2 of groceries would be best.
It's currently 36Β°c on my deck thermometer.
Very extremely grateful I have AC, and a roof over my head.
The same brand cops ride.
That tracks.
And the riders with their 1000 lumen strobes on at 10am, riding an MUP.
What TF is wrong with you guys? We can see your neon green jersey, Richard, you don't need to add needle lights pointed at our eyes, too.
Turn off the effing lights.
First they were all pushed to the back wall where they usually are, so I moved all the ones I could for better access, and then emailed the councilors office.
Two nights later only abt 1/2 were on the left side of the door, and crammed together so it was super tight to use both sides.
It's been a real pain in the ass during Jazzfest. It was nice to have a proper bathroom to use to tide me over until the late show ended.
That and the absolute tomfuckery they pulled with the bike racks during this year's festival.
Show us you don't value residents why dontcha. π
And I get to see it almost every day. What a time to be alive.

A sunken volcano cone of asphalt about 2 feet wide in the middle of a paved pathway.
The same area as the previous asphalt volcano, now with pavement removed, and a trio of orange plastic construction posts with a festive yellow caution tape connecting them, surrounding the graveled space.
I have one!! Brand new paved pathway at a transit station, didn't last one heavy rainfall.
First photos, June 3. 3rd photo, Thursday.
Good thing it's just an emerg/service path.
If only!

09.08.2025 12:31 β π 6 π 1 π¬ 2 π 0It could be done at Vincent Massey, or Britannia easily enough. Both are accessible via AT, and transit.
Tho I still wouldn't go.
Good morning, Ottawa.
Bonjour, Ottawa.
That's pretty smart, actually. I know at least one person who'd love it and use it regularly.
09.08.2025 12:20 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I got up to pee just before sunrise this morning, so I looked out my east facing window, and the sky was spectacular.
I can see why people like morning.
The newly installed transition curb near Hinchey, I think, it also a rough transition. I always feel like I need to swerve to get a more perpendicular angle.
The tactile pavers at a diagonal wouldn't have done the same thing, with less abruptness? π€
