Apparently the drivers are happy to make those sacrifices too. Some jackass on FB saying that peds are catered to too much already, and that drivers should have the ROW while people wait. And they shouldn't cross unless the walk light is green.

Heads up #ottbike! Seems a large vehicle driver had some difficulty with spacial awareness, and ran over the snow bank along the bike lane between Holland Cross and the Beer Store.
Lots of ice chunks and snow spewed all over the bike lane.

And honestly, there's zero standardization, so plow operators have no idea how wide to plow. Those wooden stakes they put in fall over before the weather starts every year.
And every spot where the bike lane curves, just gets plowed straight, so they miss the curb cuts all the time.

I had to email the city to get them to plow the EB cycle track. It was basically mostly under snow all winter, and folks were riding on the sidewalk.
