Took this today at the #ChinookBlast #Winter #Festival on the #Eau #Claire grounds in #downtown #Calgary. The guy creating a #dwarf is a #chainsaw #artisan, as the #bear in the foreground can attest to. Not much #snow but that changes soon in #yyc. Last day for the festival tomorrow.

Thanks. Luck was with me. Besides the right moment, the birds were across from a 5' high metal fence which ran parallel along the river for a short distance. I didn't have a tripod with me but was able to rest my Canon on a fence post for stability while taking the photos.

I watched them for about 20 minutes and there was no quarreling between the two, probably because the eagle was never in the air for long as there were plenty of fish. He returned twice to these rocks with each catch and left a lot behind, much to the delight of the magpie. 🙂
