Fortunately we're not the government still is against attacks on Jews, so the police will be taking this threat seriously and I'm sure beefing up security, but ultimately this is a reminder to us, and all sub-groups: our security and protection is first and foremost on us.

Unfortunately the last 2 weeks have made clear: it was only a matter of time until they turned violent against us.

Regardless of the general condemnations, plenty of mentally ill and radicalized "activists" will see the coverage of these two recent attacks and be inspired to commit copycat acts.

Even for those of us aware of rising left-wing anti-semitism of the last 20 years, it much tamer and less direct of a threat. Any actual physical threat was from Islamists.

Sure, the leftists might stage marches, but to most Jews (especially those culturally liberal), it felt like all talk.

Whether it was swastikas being spray-painted on our homes and synagogues or shootings and firebombings at JCCs and houses of worship - the right wing threat was very clear.

One question many friend on the right had after Oct 7 was why so many Jews in the US are more concerned with right wing anti-semitic violence than left wing.

For many years, it was the right (neo nazis and white supremacists) who invaded jewish space and made us feel unsafe.
