We are planning on making it a very funny, very stupid website.

I am hearing word that Alex Jones, in true Alex Jones fashion, is reading the press release from our fictitious CEO as fact.

Also, part of the reason we did bought InfoWars is because people on Bluesky told us it would be funny to buy InfoWars. And those people were right. This is the funniest thing that has ever happened.

The Onion acquiring Infowars happened because BlueSky made a joke to @bencollins.bsky.social, and @bencollins.bsky.social working to acquire The Onion happened because he made a joke on BlueSky.

Basically, joke about your dreams on BlueSky, it's a wish factory.

Remember, by elevating incompetent fascists like Hegseth, Gabbard, and Gaetz, the aim is to demoralize us.

It's ok to be horrified by the injustice and insanity of it all, but instead of feeling helpless and withdrawing, let’s get angry and fight.

Revisiting this, I’ll say there is very much a mid-February 2020 feel to the moment, where it’s clear something might be looming and the people who understand these processes are talking about stuff that’s hard to fathom.

How I feel on the inside vs how I (try to) maintain my composure externally . . .

Earnest post, but: a thing I like here is it’s okay to have moments of happiness in public without being broadly scolded, and I believe that sustaining this kind of humanity will be very important as we resist fascism.

We have to sustain each other. Making joy isn’t denial, it’s how we will survive

I agree with this. But a question I have is how much of the inevitable chaos will those same people even know about, given their sources of information.

I was really invested in her getting that 🍕

- hold your people close, even when you don’t have the right words
- invest in queer and BIPOC led businesses and organizations
- get mentally and physically healthy so you can be there for the people who rely on you
- practice self care, same reason as above
- find moments of joy

As many have pointed out, Dems faced the same environment that has been taking out incumbent parties everywhere.

A big part of this, however, is that Trump was allowed to rehabilitate himself and his first term relatively unchallenged by the media.
