Caught up on the livecast from this week. Someone mentioned that other companies are starting to put 'no ai was used' kind of notes on their games and in rulebooks. I think y'all might be interested to know that there is a movement there and people look for that!

Man this game is mechanically such a step up, but I don't envy them figuring out a framework! The narrative is much messier, and with an air of mystery that still isn't resolved until I presumably hit the Real Ending. A hard follow to the tidy clarity of Hades I!

All the criticism I've seen of it has been "It's more Hades!!" which yeah. I think the plot is slightly harder to lock into mentally, as is the protagonist, but also it's all comparison to the original. I think in every other way it meets or exceeds the high bar of first.

I keep smiling thinking of the surprises Hades II has. Just a little nesting doll of delight. What a treat. I've gasped out loud multiple times as the game has gone on.

It's hard to follow such a fully realized thought as the first Hades, but I reckon it's a rare sequel on par with the first.
