Wow that franchise took a dark turn

Finished the series today. Overall highly entertaining, if a bit rushed - reading up on the history afterwards, there's definitely more they could've included. Gilpin is superb in the final episode. Macfadyen gives the best performance I've seen in TV/film from 2025.

Watched episode 2. I'm quite impressed by Macfadyen so far, less so by Shannon whose presence seems a bit neutered by the overly idealized depiction of Garfield. A more ambivalent characterization could suit his talents better.

Watched the 1st episode of Death by Lightning. Turns out how James Garfield got the Republican nomination is basically the plot of Conclave, who knew.

Honestly, maybe the Simpsons episode Homer Loves Flanders? It's certainly the one I've laughed the hardest at.

RIP Tom Noonan, a friend for 18 years. Often typecast as villains, he was an actor's actor, a unique playwright & filmmaker, a gifted composer, and a pianist with a sweet voice. My kids & I used to go to his tiny apartment for dinner (pizza). We'd have a few drinks & he'd start to play. Magic.

Past few days have not been great for me, mental health-wise. Slacked off on work, fell into doomscrolling and Internet rabbit holes. Had to block an account whose feed I was hate-reading in order to preserve some amount of sanity.

Why is this obviously clickbait article from 9 days ago going around only now, and why does Far Out not even mention a source for the quote in question? (I Googled the quote - it's from back in 2022.)

Picked up The Crown again after losing interest in it briefly. Two underrated performances in it I'd like to give a random shout out to: Chloe Pirrie and Pip Torrens.
