I do tend to read through whole series (if they're already out) so some grouping is natural but it is still surprising to me

I don't typically choose books based on gender of the author, but I do have a bit of privilege there being a cis male. At a guess my traditional reading choices have probably been 75-80% male authors. Everything I've read this year and the next eleven books in my queue are all by female authors.

I made a small mistake and in trying to fix it, made things worse, and now everything is on fire.

As a result, the cap is too short to fit on the end of the pen, so it's beautiful (2 sides of the same cap pictured above) but useless for this project. I may be able to adapt it for another project but it's unlikely

It's ironic because it's a metaphor for that friendship and my life in general.

I started making a fountain pen as a gift for a dear friend last August. The friendship ended unexpectedly and I was too distraught to finish until now. I made a small mistake on the cap, no big deal I can shorten it by 2mm. In doing so I made another mistake and had to take 5mm off to correct it.

At one point today I was chatting with a colleague via Slack for work , my daughter via Google chat, a friend via text, a friend via Discord, and a customer via Etsy.

I am making progress on the card game I am designing again, which means back to figuring out what I am doing with the art since I do not have the drawing skill to do it myself and the artist I had last Christmas flaked out. My playtest copy is currently using chatgpt images and I hate it

I have mostly focused on turning pens from pre existing kits, but I now have some nibs to make closed end kitless fountain pens and am very excited to start this weekend!

A few months ago for the first time in my life at the age of 43 I started letting my facial hair grow for more than the normal 2-3 days worth I would previously normally freak out about and now I'm getting swamped with the most unhinged ads for beard care products. Who told the ad gremlins?!

I love the way this ink refill retracts! It twists and locks like a fire hose!

Forcing myself to list already finished pens before making more, the goal is at least a couple a day until I get through the backlog

The last couple days have been fountain pens (although I have a few more) so sticking with "also sprays water if you think about it" today's theme is Firefighter
