They said that when we interviewed them as well. I wonder if they just didn't have the time between knowing they were being included in the awards to formulate a marketing plan, assets, etc? They did say they really wanted to emulate the Apex launch formula.

I do think closing the Game Awards and not having a marketing rollout was not a good look. But like, maybe we care too much about The Game Awards? Maybe that's more on Geoff than the team trying to launch a new thing they've worked years on? The discourse on this one made me feel bad man lol

This is a new IP being made by an independent studio of 100 people with a prepared first-year of content and a fresh take on multiplayer. It feels like the kind of thing we ask for often. Honestly, I didn't really get the AMOUNT of dunking this one got tbh.

We went to the Press day. There was a Creator day after. That said, it sounds like he wasn't there either.
