We lost this perfect little goblin to brain cancer this year. 9 months in, and I think I'm still in the denial stage. This pic was over a decade ago and still cracks us up. He knew he wasn't allowed up there. The sound of the box woke us in the middle of the night.

It's tough for people to grasp that both things can be true:
1. The road to hell is paved with 80% complete projects that should've been completed
2. The slide to hell is lubricated with projects that should've been abandoned earlier

This is a fantastic thread, and it's not unique to software development. The learning loops part is critical, and too commonly missed.
There *is* a solid, repeatable operating solution to this issue, which we're building as a platform to specifically help ecommerce companies at first.

Holyrood Mexico New Make 60% Holyrood Distillery
Smokey mezcal nose. On sip, indistinguishable from mezcal. I have found a Mexican-Scottish fusion beverage, but I don't recommend putting this in a "Michelada" with Irn-Bru.

Holyrood Ale Yeast New Make slightly aged 50% Holyrood Distillery
Agave nose, very calm flavor. Even less like gin.

Holyrood Brewer's X Distillers Yeast New Make 60% Holyrood Distillery
Melon and mango, plus something less bright and crisp. Less gin-like than the Black Cork

*Holyrood Pitch Single Malt 46% Holyrood Distillery
Nose is cherries, pepper, and fresh cut oak. Flavor retains these and adds charred orange peppers plus walnut, molasses, and exactly the right amount of heat.

Bonnington Muscat Cask Lowland Single Malt 46% Holyrood Distillery
Scent is decidedly oatmeal with white grapes. Natural white fruit sweetness, with some heat that numbs the lips. Needs to be watered down to be appreciated. Oats get in the way of what should be crisp light grapes.

Woven Homemade Blended Whisky 46% Holyrood Distillery
Damp cedar forest on the nose, some peppery notes start to show but immediately recede to maole, oak, and pecan. Anise, toffee, and leather vie for next billing.

*Port of Leith #3 Blended Whisky 46% Holyrood Distillery
Smells like the silent library in Rush Rhees with the huge armchairs. An almost rye-like punchy flavor at first, followed by more soothing oak with a hint of vanilla and honeysuckle.
I normally stick to single malts but this is great.

Holyrood Black Cork New Make 60% Holyrood Distillery
Strong but good, surprisingly aromatic. Anise and coal smoke, malty undertones with a subtle sweetness. Could pass for a smoky gin with a touch of licorice.

*Bruichladdich Octomore 15.1 5yo Recharred Ex-Bourbon 59.1% Port of Leith Cigar Lounge flight
Ginger, melon, toffee, exceptionally smooth feel, good warmth building to fiery peat. Makes me excited for my 15.3.

Wanted to try this distillery but am now questioning whether my mouth still exists.

Caol Ila 10y Adelphi X RMW A Motley 57.7% Port of Leith Cigar Lounge flight
Smoked rubber thoroughly rubbed with pepper, with a mouth-numbing medicinal quality. Suitable for dental work- I can feel my lips and tongue less than after a shot of novocaine.

*Kilchoman Sanaig 46% Port of Leith Cigar Lounge flight
Darker color, red berries and caramel on the nose followed by a touch of smoky leather. Fantastic. Wanted to try this distillery and am not disappointed.

Lagg Kilmory 46% Port of Leith Cigar Lounge flight
Subtle, very smoky, light in color and body. Vanilla from the bourbon barrels comes through on the finish. I was excited to try this, but it's not as interesting as I'd hoped.

Independent bottler Finn Thompson distilled at Glen Garioch, Hungarian dessert wine finish, 59.3%, The Black Cat
Very sweet, artificial pineapple flavor like the clearish-yellow Haribo gummy bears, interesting but cloying after a few sips.

It occurs to me it might be worthwhile to specify that my reviews are for me to be able to rediscover the taste through my own words and may be incomprehinsible to anyone else. Nevertheless, here they are.
