If you can persuade your GP to run an oestradiol test, it's a simple blood one. The trouble is that it does fluctuate. If it happens to catch when it's low they may be willing to discuss peri symptoms but if they happen to catch it when it's higher they may dismiss any possibility of peri completely

Everything and anything I eat this week is giving me indigestion. Was off work Wednesday-Friday, had on-off migraines but also a bone tired exhaustion and a low grade headache all the time (between migraines). Pete thinks I probably picked up some virus. I wonder if that is affecting my digestion?

In your 30s, friends who have been there say it's very hard to even get a GP to consider perimenopause as a possible cause, even though it's clearly known by the medical profession to start that early for some women.

Hopefully it's not. Some of the ones that I noticed first include dryer, more fragile skin, thinning hair, itchiness everywhere that's so bad it drives me almost insane, fatigue, migraine auras (rarely had auras with my migraines before end never like these), cold flushes, dairy intolerance...

They can test your hormone levels but as these fluctuate in a day let alone a week or month it's not used on its own. It's usually a symptom-based diagnosis. I don't know how old you are but it's not uncommon for peri to start in early 40s or even before that for some women.

Are you peri age yet cuz that was one of the signs when I became. Itchy armpits which became itchy all over my fucking body. Even the soles of my feet.
