I was thinking things like blood sugar or heart rate or BP monitors or things like that? My colleague wears a patch and an app on his phone alerts him if the patch detects low blood sugar.

I mean, there were no such things as mobile phones when I was at school but even if there had been, I'm pretty sure they would absolutely have been a restricted item. What need does a child have to access a phone during lesson time? With the proviso that there may be a few health-related exceptions.

Yeah same. I do think that broadly speaking, the internet is not an age-restricted place nor should we attempt to make it into such. And so that it makes more sense for access by kids to be supervised or restricted, the same as it might be in other adult-oriented spaces.

I would think so. I can't imagine phones are permitted other than in few exceptions (like a medical alert app) and even then would probably sit on the teacher's desk?

I'm an amateur, have been blogging for many years. I will always include good and bad in a review. If a place is unmitigatedly awful, I may choose not to publish anything at all but if I do publish, then it will reflect the full array of my opinions as accurately as I can.

Too late to read via the gift article link (but really appreciate that you do that!). From the excerpt shared, I suspect you are very much of the opinion that I am: There is no use for content which is not truthful to one's opinion but sadly too many critics have become puff piece peddlers.

That's excellent. Wonder if it's made it onto nationwide curriculum? I think adults would benefit hugely as well, not so much the grooming but the cults, the scams, the false information...

It's quite bizarre isn't it. I remember reading a few years ago (so details are hazy) that Finland teaches kids about how to recognise online scams, how to consider and assess the authority of online information sources and the veracity of what is contained, and so on. THIS SOUNDS BRILLIANT TO ME!

It's not complicated to understand that serving it sharing style between 2 just means that each plate has 2 peoples' worth of portions on it. And of course wine costs extra. How thick do you have to be, honestly???

I do love a good hat or cagoule but I hate getting raindrops on my glasses so unless it has a deep hood (that doesn't obscure my sightline) or an extending rim, I find too frustrating. I'd consider one of the mini umbrella hat things but they are beyond uncool!

Is definitely one of my pet peeves. Very short people seem particularly oblivious to their flailing umbrella tips being at eye height for many others.

Yeah I'm mostly out to eat out, to be honest. When we travel / fly I wear the FFP3 face masks, but they aren't practical when going out to eat. As I get my flu and covid vaccs I should be reasonably well protected but they rarely cover all the strains...

Yeah we're not far from Cwmbran. I work from home but had been to Birmingham to take pseudo-niece out for lunch and for food shopping, and I think we were out for lunch locally on Sunday so I no doubt picked something up.

I think I had eczema at that time and that was why I missed it. But there were so few kids that missed any given vaccine back then, as it was only for specific medical reasons, that herd immunity did its thing. That's all fucked now.
