More high density neighborhoods!! (Finally fixed the legend title.)

In Philly and Boston, we've got massive and continuous density in the city proper and adjacent cities. (Upper Darby ❀️)

But with a few exceptions (Lynn, MA and Norristown, PA), outlying urban centers don't pack much of a punch.

Zohran Mamdani wants to make NYC buses free as mayor. How would that work? In a race that is shaping up to be about who can make New York City most affordable, free buses are an appealing – if expensive – proposal.

A leading candidate for New York City mayor wants free local bus fares. But studies have repeatedly shown that any money you spent on that would be more productively spent on better service. 1/

Two Israeli Embassy staffers shot dead outside D.C.'s Capital Jewish Museum The gunman shouted "Free Palestine" as he was being arrested, law enforcement officials said.

Seems pretty clear that the shooter had no way of knowing his victims were Israeli officials, but did know he was murdering two attendees of an AJC event at the Jewish Museum. www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news...

Best part of the awful weather today is that it completely elevates small talk about weather at the office. people cannot help themselves but mention how bad the weather is

Only 32 contributions from Boston residents at any dollar amount.

To date, Kraft's campaign is roughly 75% funded from outside of Boston.

And with only 7 contributions of $100 or less from Bostonians, the story really tells itself.

In the three biggest games of his career -- two Super Bowls and this year's NFC Championship -- Jalen Hurts has shown up and balled out every time.

17-for-22 for 221, 2 TDs.

11 carries for 72 yards and a TD.

Was in control from start to finish. Now a Super Bowl champ.

With the Super Bowl on the line, Vic Fangio and the Eagles defense limited Patrick Mahomes to the worst game of his career, based on dropback success rate.

The best defense in the NFL was dominant against the best QB in the NFL. And the Eagles are Super Bowl champs.

Devastating for scientists and their research, and everyone who benefits from that research.

I’m not sure if everyone outside academia is aware that a delay or β€œpause” in grant funding often means the researchers themselves are lost from the field, along with their expertise.

A line chart showing the number of trips per bike per day. There is a black line for e-bikes and a blue line for "classic" (non electric assist) bikes. The black line ranges from ~3 trips/bike/day in January to almost 10 trips/bike/day in October. The blue line ranges from ~1 trip/bike/day in January to almost 4 trips/bike/day in September.

A bar chart comparing the median trip distance of e-bikes and classic bikes (non-electric) by month. It shows that e-bike trips are 20-30% longer in distance each month compared to classic bikes. E-bike trip distances range from 1.3mi (January) to 1.57mi (June). Classic bike trip distances range from 1.09mi (February) to 1.24mi (June).

Reviewing our first year of data about e-bikes in the Bluebikes public bike share system. e-bikes get used much more frequently and people travel farther on them. Those things are workhorses.
