I enjoyed season 2 of the The Night Manager, in that it’s very well made TV featuring a lot of talented people putting in great performances. It definitely suffers from feeling like it’s trying too hard to be an Empire Strikes Back of a trilogy rather than just a great story in its own right. 📺

There’s a moment in Is This Thing On? when Bradley Cooper turns to Will Arnett and says, “you were always the funniest person in our group.” All I could think was, oh boy, that must have been an unfunny, humourless bunch of people.

Not really. There are some recurring characters but their backstory is rarely significant to the plot. It’s more like an anthology series with the odd cameo.

Wonder Man on Disney+ is excellent. Ben Kingsley having so much fun, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is terrific. Marvel can carry on making TV shows like this, maybe some West Coast Avengers, plus Daredevil and his Defenders crew, and I’d be very happy.
