If you're an author and haven't yet signed up for the Anthropic settlement, do yourself a favor (and strike a blow against AI) by checking to see if any of your books were involved.

Just a reminder to check for your name in this list of books that OpenAI trained from. If your name is there, they probably owe you several thousand dollars.
OpenAI cried that if everyone eligible author files, the company will go bankrupt, so I'm alerting every author I have ever spoken to.
Really good stuff here.

With Senate changes, KHA now says it would "devastate" KY, causing hospitals to close & 20K job losses. Guthrie just said it "protects health care for the most vulnerable Americans"
KY Gov. Beshear on TV this morning: "200K of my people are going to lose their health care coverage. 20K health care workers are going to lose their job. This is the GOP majority firing Americans that right now have a good job & 35 rural hospitals may close, which will impact every single community"

Imagine having all that power and choosing to make peopleβs lives worse.
Shameful.
Laughing in front of cages designed to hold migrants and refugees, many of whom came to this country fleeing extreme violence and poverty, and hoping to raise their children in a more compassionate country. And many of whom followed all the legal procedures to enter the country.

Republicans' Big, Beautiful Bill would:
β Kick 16 million off their health care
β Close 1 out of 4 nursing homes
β Hike your energy bills
β Add at least $4 trillion to the national debt
Itβs a gift to the rich and a disaster for families.
See that giant bar all the way to the left? That's how much rural Kentucky stands to lose under the proposed federal Medicaid cuts.
We wouldn't just lose more than any other state, we'd lose around twice as much as any other state.

They didn't offer an explanation because they don't have one. The majority of the Supreme Court has no guiding jurisprudence but raw partisan preference, and we should stop pretending otherwise.

Spotify is a horrible platform in so many ways. People should consider if they're ok using it. We use Tidal in the shop for streaming and are really happy with it. Some of the staff use Qobuz at home. Spotify sounds terrible and their ethics are disgusting.
