This is positive after a slowdown in the reflection of our childrenโ€™s realities last Year. These reports are so vital and have driven change over time. Well done to all @theclpe.bsky.social

Surely anything you bring with you from the place younhave fled and risked your life to get to this country is sentimental?

This is nice to hear. Earliernin my career we had very detailed plans for every lesson. They could be changed and adapted but thatโ€™s what a shared scheme looked like- fully resourced and with an accompanying plan. Much better than all the admin KS leads Do now

With lots of CPD coming up this term, here's a taste of what teachers have had to say about some of our recent courses!

Particularly weird as it was after a kids video on the solar system Iโ€™d watched with my toddler on YouTube? Like what kind of targeting is thatโ€ฆ

Maybe Donโ€™t Talk to the New York Times About Zohran Mamdani Itโ€™s remarkable, the people youโ€™ll hear from. Teach for even a little while at an expensive institutionโ€”the term they tend to prefer is โ€œeliteโ€โ€”and odds are that eventually someone who was a studenโ€ฆ

This piece is as good as people say it is. Read it to appreciate that writing isn't just about content, but style. AI can't do this.

Thatโ€™s it. Through the โ€˜howโ€™ a school can nurture community, belonging, accountability in class, when learning, not just in tutor groups and extra curricular.

I do this all the time, no AI or even computer needed. It's called mind-mapping, or marginal comments, or Talmud, or Tumblr, or Post-its, or scholia, or Emily Dickinson's writing practice, or drafts, or revises, or amends, or "expand this," or highlighting, or developing an idea, or ...

So glad to have known other disrupters, I was hoping weโ€™d be the mainstream but fear weโ€™ll still have tondo the work!

I agree-Iโ€™m disappointed before Itโ€™s even come out. We need to reckon with what certain kinds of pastoral and t&l policies within schools have done to childrenโ€™s mental health and sense of themselves. The idea that what and how we teach is seperate from how kids feel in and after school is so flawed

I love this because it recognises that our pedagogies and teaching practices are also important. If you teach a diverse range of books but have never thought about how your institution teachers those it makes pupils of all backgrounds feel, then youโ€™ve not decolonised anything #edusky

This is a good round up. Anyone who tries to say โ€˜teachers work so hard we canโ€™t reform the systemโ€™ isnโ€™t speaking for me. Iโ€™ve been working within but railing against the system for most of my career!
