I respect that perspective. My take is the TikTok ban is for the US oligarchs' benefit; they're parasites. The Chinese probably already have a lot of our data anyways, and our own oligarchs are parasites. The whole little red book thing is meant to screw Musk and Zuck and I'm all for that.

TIL the Chinese on the app say the app is actually called "Little Red Book." This makes sense if you know anything about the Cultural Revolution (Mao) period of their history.

I never liked Twitter/X, which is sort of how BlueSky functions. So this is more of an X replacement. I'll probably keep FB; but only so my friends and I can stay in contact. But otherwise, I'll not scroll or post there anymore, and also refrain from FB Messenger and Instagram too.
