Our annual war commemoration: we will publish a war memorial every day from now until 11 November. Today: A memorial for the German dead of WW1 in Southgate. Not soldiers, but German civilians, interned as enemy aliens.

Royal Observatory - South Building weather vane The weather vane is modelled on the Henri Grace à Dieu. The building was completed in September 1896 and this weather vane was added the following March. Source: Royal Observatory Greenwich.
