I want to compile a YouTube playlist of videos to be played during Cycle To Work Day.
I'm NOT looking for serious roadie videos, nor close pass videos.
Instead, I'm looking for inspirational videos, showing everyday cycling.
Please can you help? Also, please repost?
Wandsworthβs section of the National Cycle Network is a mixed bag. Much of it, like the Wandle Trail, is great and family-friendly. But even the Wandle Trail has gaps, most notably at Earlsfield. There is a petition asking Wandsworth and Merton councils to sort it:

Day done! Raising a beer to Tim at the Three Little Pigs in Crediton. He would have loved this place - loads of character, good beer and great food (tbc).
Mark is filling the role of βtaking photos of everythingβ, and Lorenzo is filling the role of βdrinking voluminous aleβ, both in honour of Tim.

Whether youβre new to cycling or a regular rider, itβs a great way to explore London. With more than 410km of cycling routes in the capital, cycling can be for everyone.
Best of luck to @annacycles.bsky.social and her companions.
I really used to enjoy reading Tim's travels, and this is a great undertaking to honour his memory.
Paris Street filled without outdoor seating during the pandemic
To ensure cars didnβt just take back ownership of Paris streets as the pandemic was ending (like they did in so many cities), Mayor @annehidalgo.bsky.social made sure that 60k parking spaces and many streets were permanently transformed with restaurant seating, people-places, greening, & bike-lanes.

Cricket was on at the Oval in London this week. It was pouring with rain. This is just one of five parking bays for the cricket fans to get to the ground (unfortunately taking most of the pavement rather than taking up storage spaces on the road. Is it time we talked about e-vehicle storage space?)

I remain opposed to a new runway at Heathrow Airport because of the severe impact it will have in terms of noise, air pollution and meeting our climate change targets. Despite progress to make the aviation sector more sustainable, I remain unconvinced that you can have a new runway delivering hundreds of thousands of additional flights every year without a hugely detrimental impact on our environment. I will carefully scrutinise the new Heathrow expansion proposals - including the impact these would have on people living in the area and the huge knock-on effects for our transport infrastructure, which would require a comprehensive and costed plan to manage - and I will keep all options on the table in how we respond.
I remain opposed to a new runway at Heathrow Airport.
My full response to the expansion proposals for a third runway:
"In a UK-first, a genetically unique juniper forest at Trees for Lifeβs Dundreggan rewilding estate in the Scottish Highlands has been awarded a special European designation to protect and enhance its globally significant diversity."

Increasing Heathrow airport capacity from 84m to 150m per year is absolute madness. www.bbc.com/news/article...

BUT these delays donβt stop people from flying. So why do delays on trains, real or imagined, mean people donβt even try taking the train?

Screenshot of a tweet from Simon Lightwood MP. Jul 21. "Everyone deserves safe, accessible transport. Thatβs why weβre extending e-scooter trials to 2028 and expanding them to new towns to learn how best to regulate them. Weβre also looking at our mobility aid laws so disabled people can use the devices they need for independence." Easy to miss, but important. At @wheelsforwellbeing.org.uk we've been working towards this moment for years - the DfT has publicly announced that it is looking at sorting out mobility aid laws. π Our #MyCycleMyMobilityAid campaign looks like it is paying off.

A study shows that people who cycle regularly have a 19% lower risk of all-cause dementia and a 22% lower risk of Alzheimerβs.
As well as being effective transport and climate policy, installing and developing active travel infrastructure is a sound public health investment.
