we certainly do not require authors to include URLs, and I’ve mostly (I think) seen journal article cites just have page nos. I agree that it’s simpler to leave out the online links if there’s sufficient info on the print format. (and it saves space on the page!)

it just doesn't make grammatical sense! capping the title makes it sound like "there was this person, President Clinton, who existed but now no longer exists. he's metamorphosed into another life form"

section 8.22 of the Chicago Manual is really breaking my heart today

I tried to write out my thoughts with clarity, and it ended up sounding pretentious. but what I’m getting at is that feeling of the “something more” that I think we always seek in art. it’s hard to describe. with words we end up over-explaining—unless we’re Virginia Woolf

each heightened moment of experience exceeding any attempt to classify or categorize it.

of course, Woolf’s style and voice are constructed in the knowledge that the written word is an approximation. but I think her knowledge of that limit shapes her successful etchings of the boundary space

with To the Lighthouse, I notice how much the vibe matches what I most value about Mozart’s piano concertos: the ability to communicate a multiplicity of emotions in a given moment.

okay, call me simple but I cannot make head or tail of this graf. what does “may suffer” mean?

University presses don't get much love these days. I got my start as book author thanks to Indiana UP, did two career-making books with Harvard UP and some more with Duke. It would be a tragedy to lose any (more) of them from the publishing ecosystem.
