Yep! And there are a bunch of reasons why students might use AI (lazy, work, caretaking, etc.). Makes much more sense for them to redo imho

Also despite our best judgements, it's becoming increasingly difficult to "detect" AI in any meaningful way absent from knowing our students and their writing. Scaffolding and process writing are more important than ever in the classroom!

Great article and the same issues apply to teaching, where trust and personal relationships are so important. An overly threatening or punitive approach to AI in the classroom erodes the very trust needed for students to think critically about their writing choices.
