Book description: José, a lonely transgender boy who has overt mental disabilities, makes friends with Zoma, a terrifying yet extremely lonely animatronic character who resides in an abandoned arcade. Years pass in which the two secretly become the best of friends, but now in his early twenties, José uncovers evidence of horrific murders that seem to have been carried out by his mechanical friend, both more recent and from decades ago. Feeling like his world is falling apart, José desperately turns to his loving mother, Roseanna, who knows secrets about the true nature of the arcade, and how Zoma is alive. However, something sinister from the building has escaped, and It really doesn't want José or his mother finally spreading the truth.
