09.10.2025 17:07 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0I don’t give a shit about Black people supposedly being mean lol, I don’t know where you got that idea. White people have always been way meaner to me and most of the people around me than anyone else anyway, so even if I was petty like that why would I focus on any other race?
09.10.2025 17:05 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Right, Black people don’t oppress any race at the societal level, that’s why I said “Black racism doesn’t exist” so many times.
I think you’re strongly misreading my intent or what I think the significance of my initial point is.
i’m not going to act like i was never more flippant or impatient than i needed to be throughout however many dozen responses occurred here, but i do think you’re projecting onto me just a tad lol
09.10.2025 16:59 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0ok i’m going to be real here: do you honestly think “quoting myself” was the point of that reply? you saw what i typed next to the link right
09.10.2025 16:56 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0we took opposite positions on the specific question of whether a person has to be a member of the primary beneficiaries of racism in order to “be racist,” which is at least as much a question of semantics as it is a question of sociology
09.10.2025 16:54 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0for the third time, in what way were any of those characteristics exhibited more by anything I said than by anything you said? I never even cited the written word
I’m not even saying that to deflect, I just genuinely don’t understand what difference you’re perceiving beyond like, the fact that
I wasn’t trying to “whatabout” though, I was trying to contradict what looked to me like a greatly oversimplified, absolutist assertion being made directly. It’d be whataboutist if someone just said white supremacy was the main issue, and I responded to *that* with “Black people can be racist too”
09.10.2025 16:50 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Well to be fair it’s an entire website and I’ve been on my phone, I assumed if there was another specific page I should read you’d also link that
09.10.2025 16:46 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0I know, don’t worry— I wasn’t referring to being prejudiced. bsky.app/profile/damn...
One of the people who disagreed with my framing offered the phrasing “being an agent of white supremacy” to describe what I was referring to as Black people “being racist.” I may start using that instead.
dog you gotta take it easy on the vagueposting tho
09.10.2025 16:42 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Ah, now I get it! What I was calling “being racist,” you were calling “being an agent of white supremacy.”
The disconnect was just a slight difference in terminology, probably! I’ll have to review trends in how people tend to use these terms and possibly update my lexicon accordingly.
wait what words don’t match up bsky.app/profile/damn...
09.10.2025 16:38 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0to be fair to everybody, there can be fine distinctions between “being a racist,” “doing something racist,” and “racism”
09.10.2025 16:37 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I’m not referring to prejudice, though, at least not directly, though encouraging prejudice is often a function of what I meant. I’m referring to cases where non-white people oppress other non-white people from limited, often tokenist positions of relative power within white supremacy.
09.10.2025 16:35 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 1Friends of mine had explicitly made the argument that in addition to colorist and featurist, Black people can be racist to one another from limited positions within white supremacy, but I don’t think I was sure that dynamic was best described as “racism” until the fallout from “slavery was a choice”
09.10.2025 16:32 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0That also makes sense to me! I always just thought of the power dynamic as being somewhat separable from the individuals participating in it, such that a non-white person could still hurt another via white supremacy and qualify. I should refresh myself, I wonder if both could be contextually valid

Citizens and non-citizens alike were dragged from their homes in the night. People who weren't kidnapped during the raid had their belongings seized after the fact. This is madness.

The reason you have a display name like "The Ass is the father of the legs" is when you make a good point and someone reposts it, they're also helping to spread an important message, which is that the ass is the father of the legs

08.10.2025 17:11 — 👍 8 🔁 2 💬 0 📌 0To clarify: I know of zero cases where the majority *of Black people* in a polity voted for racism.
I can think of cases in this country where the simple majority of a majority-white polity voted for racism, and last election almost a majority of the whole country’s voters did it.
I’d normally assume it was myself since I was the guy directly above you on the reply chain, but all I was doing was telling a white person that there’s no way to be “racist” against white people IRL
08.10.2025 17:19 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Yeah, a member of a social minority hating the social majority is never an example of racism. But to my understanding, one member of a social minority oppressing other members of the same minority group, or another minority group, can be.
