Of all the fanbases mentioned so far, I’d have to say Spurs supporters are the worst offenders.

Well, the #wafc result wasn’t the best yesterday but there’s been calls for Lowe Out after every game we’ve lost this season. Arguments over tactics, team selection, fitness, how he treats cup games and talks to the fans. He’s apparently “lost the dressing room” now, as if anyone knows anything.

I don’t have a freeform, play-what-you-like radio show, but then again who does, besides Mickey Bradley and Pete Paphides. However, if I did, this is the shizz that would be on the playlist. ‘Follow’ this Spotify and you can have the playlist updated every month: 54 listeners can’t be wrong.

Oh yes, it played fine once I scraped the soil off. 20,000 Rezillos Under the Sea on the B-side was also great as I recall.

Weirdest thing I found buried in undergrowth was a copy of Top of the Pops by the Rezillos.

A coalition or electoral pact would rely on Labour working together with other parties, something they are usually very reluctant to do.

It’s also difficult to square cuddly Tony with ‘defended Milosevic’ Tony.

The UAE is an authoritarian autocracy, a petro-state with no income tax for citizens, to bribe them for the lack of democratic voice or free speech

It is 85% migrant, a segregated society with a ban on integration in principle and practice, few rights, equal opportunities, nor voice for incomers

The song Gentlemen is one of my favourites of the 90s, and doesn’t it also contain a creditable version of Dark End of the Street?

Reform UK’s Skelton East, Redcar and Cleveland by-election candidate Craig Holmes, trousers down like a toddler doing a pee pee on someone’s property.

He’s standing for election next Thursday.

Loved the Tyde when they first came out (there are at least three albums, I think), and that East Village one’s a keeper

Hey up: I’m fairly new here and wondered whether you might be up for this - a pleasantly random 20-song playlist I make every month. If you can’t think what to listen to just now, stick it on and follow me down some rabbit holes. And if you do give it a ‘follow’ you’ll get a new one every month …

For a spell, I thought that me, my mate Al and Stewart Lee were the only fans of Howe in the UK. Seen in many different configurations and he’s reliably maddening and amazing. His big show at the Barbican just after Sept 11 was a real moment: the kind of tribute people only usually get when they die

Same here on both counts. The first albums I had on tape were Frankie Goes to Hollywood, the Art of Noise and Heaven 17. Then it all went a bit rock, and later a bit indie. It’s taken me till now to re-embrace the 80s and all those production styles I’d written off as tacky and bourgeois.

Isn’t it great? I only randomly found it myself today. A bit like Fleetwood Mac, Sade is something that creeps up on you with age. It did feel really “coffee table” at the time but I keep coming across songs that reveal indisputable hidden depths.

This a brilliant piece of work. Thanks for reposting (and congratulations). So glad that I made the jump from X to here recently, otherwise I might have missed this.

The Scots were way ahead of the English in adoption of the pakora. I guess because they’re essentially battered, deep fried things.

Fair play to Perry and Catchpole: this list gets all the Oasis albums in the right order and makes me moderately curious about some the High Flying Birds songs.

There’s a chippy, slightly playground bullying aspect to his shtick and he does wear some terrible shirts but IMO he’s smarter and wittier than most mainstream funnymen.

Early series, some eps co-written by Andrew Collins, weren’t so bad, Mack has great comic timing and it had a good ensemble cast: Katy Wix, Tim Vine and Bobby Ball. But they tweaked it too often and now appear to be phoning it in.

This list makes me despair for the great British public. To think that, off the top of my head, it doesn’t include…

Phoenix Nights
I’m Alan Partridge
The Thick of It
Peep Show
Parks and Recreation
Father Ted
Black Books
The IT Crowd
The Inbetweeners
The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin
Police Squad

It could be perceived as a touch patronising. But it was funny. Mind you, I liked Mr Merlin as well.

It mystifies me. Friends has dated badly but it is reliably gag after gag. I’m not convinced The Big Bang theory is any better than Running the Halls or Diff’rent Strokes

No Phoenix Nights, I’m Alan Partridge, Father Ted, Black Books or The IT Crowd? I don’t recognise this country any more.

Euston, which manages to be overcrowded at all times of the day, has hardly any seating, seems to have two impenetrable fronts hemmed in by buses, makes you go out to go back into the underground, and all around are reminders of what an amazing station it used to be.
