Veteran in my late 30s who is glad smart phones didnโ€™t record my stupidity as an enlisted person. That stupidity NEVER included Nazi symbolism. Hate and racism canโ€™t be excused by young stupidity.

The Walton family (who own Walmart) are worth over $400 billion, yet many of their employees are on SNAP.

Bezos is worth over $400 billion, many Amazon employees require SNAP.

The people who need help are not the problem.

Itโ€™s corporate greed. Itโ€™s an unwillingness to pay a living wage.

I tweet: "people who see 50% of their monthly paycheck go to rent don't care if a candidate eats with their hands. they want to hear what your candidate is going to do about housing."

John Galt 2025 replies: "Move if the cost of living is too high."

who creates the lively art and music scenes if the rent is too high? who makes cultural life? who serves you food or washes your dishes? who creates the fancy little restaurants that draw you to urban living? affordable housing is at the heart of what makes city life worthwhile.

Just a thought: How about we stop shaming the poor for buying things that may not be essential, and start shaming the rich for making a profit off things that are essential?

Sometimes we need a moment, but if you tune out completely, they win. Fascism doesnโ€™t need your support, just your silence.

As someone who has hypoxic brain damage from respiratory failure; the way a lot of you conflate any kind of brain injury and/or neurodivergence with immorality really fucking sucks.

Disability doesn't cause fascism. Colonialism, capitalism and white supremacy do.

Live looping is the most fun! My music is often inspired by the people at my shows. Sometimes seeing a character gives me an idea, sometimes I invite an audience member to select a flute or two and see where that takes me. This was inspired by a family of boys who kept returning for more more music.

I felt so creative yesterday! I primarily perform improvised, live-looped music. This is always a lovely adventure, but sometimes I start feeling stuck playing similar ideas. I pleasantly surprised myself yesterday and I think thatโ€™s entirely because I had so many wonderful people stop to listen!

I donโ€™t usually share about my mental health, but in light of some recent White House comments about autism, I feel like this is something personal I'd like to talk about.
In my twenties, I went through addiction and recovery. Since then Iโ€™ve spent years trying to understand myself better. Iโ€™ve been diagnosed with ADHD and OCD, and after years of therapy, my therapist has told me he has โ€œzero doubtโ€ Iโ€™m on the spectrum, even though Iโ€™ve never gone through the full formal diagnostic process.
Whether or not Iโ€™d check every box doesnโ€™t matter to me. What matters is that I relate deeply to much of the autistic experience, and learning about it has helped me find healthier ways to cope and communicate. That said, for many people who do experience enough distress or impairment, having a formal diagnosis can make a huge difference in getting the support and accommodations they need.
Iโ€™ve also seen firsthand how autism is overlooked, misunderstood, and stigmatized. Those misunderstandings make life harder than it needs to be. Autism isnโ€™t a flaw to be fixedโ€”itโ€™s a variation, like being left-handed in a right-handed world. The world wasnโ€™t designed with autistic people in mind, but that doesnโ€™t make them brokenโ€”it just means things take some adapting.
Thatโ€™s why itโ€™s so harmful to see people with serious influence like Trump and RFK Jr. pushing the false claim that Tylenol during pregnancy causes autism. There is no scientific evidence for this. Worse, it unfairly places blame on expectant mothers while ignoring real and complex factors involved, like genetics. All it does is reinforce stigma against autistic people, people who deserve understanding and respect, not fear-mongering.

Something I shared on Facebook, the only place I've personally seen people justifying Trump's and RFK's Tylenol claims, and I felt compelled to say something.

Figured I'd share here as well ๐Ÿ’™

We're witnessing the most aggressive, fanatical crackdown on free speech in my lifetime. The speed and breadth of government censorship and private sector and nonprofit capitulation has been astonishing. As has the lack of urgency/silence from people who've long claimed to care about this stuff.
