I absolutely love that the turning point of that climatic scene is just him ducking out of sight on an escalator. Nothing fancy like his pool trick earlier on. Just, "Oh shit, I hope they don't see me!"

Planet of The Apes vs The Fantastic Four sounds like a gloriously goofy Topps Comics title from the 90's.

This guy on "The Pitt" who gets Fiona Douriff's hand up his butt. He looked so familiar to me I had to look him up.
Michael Nouri from The Hidden!
@philnobilejr.bsky.social , he is 80 years old.

No matter how much Mr. Giordano hyped it, $1 an issue was way out of my budget.

No lie, in 1984 that ad made me think Omega Men was a super popular/valuable book.

1977-1980, a Marvel comic was like a daytime TV show of the time.
The books were literally 50% ads.
There were two or more separate subplots (table-setting future storylines) that dragged on at one page per issue.
Every issue stopped at a cliffhanger.
It's a wonder I stayed interested in them.

"Dear Bill and Sal,
The only thing that puzzles me about the Hulk is that Rick Jones is supposed to be black. I have read comics where Rick Jones is black. Even on the cartoons Rick Jones is white. I would like to know what happened.

Rick Jones has been white since his first appearance in the HULK way back in 1962. About ten years later, Hulk had teenager Jim Wilson hanging out with him. Jim is black, and still occasionally runs into the Hulk. You might be thinking if him and not Rick.

I miss letters pages in comic books.
From an issue of Incredible Hulk, circa 1983.

For my money, Gerry Talaoc was the only inker who could do justice to Sal's pencils.

How Markiplier’s Video Game Movie IRON LUNG Became An Indie Horror Sensation In theaters now, YouTuber Markiplier has defied expectations, turning his video game movie IRON LUNG into a very big deal despite next to no help from Hollywood.

If a Sam Raimi movie is to place second at the box office, it's only right that it will have been beaten by a 21st century Evil Dead. A scrappy DIY horror movie whose development and production was years in the making.

So I just took them all to a con and sold them for a dollar each.
I figure I made the same amount of money, in a fraction of the time, by selling them in bulk. And I actually had a great time selling $20 books for a dollar. The reactions from people was delightful.
