I want to see it, but this Variety headline is working hard to turn me off of it...

I'm not defending this, but it's not at all unusual. Smiling at and greeting every customer has been S.O.P. for any retail job since forever.

I was talking about the sequel, it definitely FEELS more suburban. Kind of like The Blob, where a group of plucky teenagers spend the night fighting a menace from the stars!

Not gonna lie. The suburban setting works better for me than some ancient temple out in Alaska or wherever.

I thought it was awful. Don't understand all of the positive reviews. I don't watch much animation, so usually I think it's a me problem. Not this time. The whole thing sucks from script to finished product.

I think it would be political suicide to stop food stamps at the start of the holiday buying season.
But then, I used to think so many other sane and rational things a year ago.

Best part is when Galactus pulls up a handful of earth and sniffs it.

He certainly looked good, but Movie Galactus is a punk next to Comic Book Galactus. Lumbering through NYC like a dumb kaiju?
My nerd brain is all, "You fool! Galactus isn't just going to walk into a giant teleportation machine!"

Black and white cartoony drawing of Mr Hyde running and waving his cane.

Sketch of Mr. Hyde
Almost every adaptation ignores the fact that Hyde is described as a SHORT man charging angrily down the streets, knocking over children and whacking men with his cane.

As a kid/horror fan in the 80's, I actually bought this regularly instead of House of Mystery. I don't know why, exactly. Maybe because the name held the promise of surprising twist-endings (just like Twilight Zone and Alfred Hitchcock Presents)?

My kids, now in their 20's, think of Danny Trejo and Steve Buscemi as the guys from Spy Kids.
Of course, to me Alec Guinness was the guy from Star Wars.
