Got the OK on my raptors for the next Perspectives show. Starting with Osprey and Goshawk. And lucky me, I had a pair of wings started from a project I abandoned years ago. YESSS

I do this every time I finish an ice climb or a ski slope. (I am terrible, fall a bunch, scared, technique of a baby deer, and visibly frazzled. Then I turn to Mr. Wolverine and get serious and quote this lol)

I just love Nurture Nature Center so much 😭❤️ They're a science AND art AND environmental education center, and they just get me. I feel like I actually belong there. I'm so excited to get felting over the next 3 months!

My favorite gallery is planning their next group show. The theme is local land use over time. I'm not a landscape person and I was trying to think of what I could do, when the director asks if I'd make some birds for the show. LET'S GOOOOOO!!!!

I finished my coiled jean basket and it immediately was claimed as a cat bed. Opal's favorite lil cushion (came out of an Aldi pumpkin house she didn't like) fit snugly inside, and she decided it was the perfect bed ♥️

What absolute nightmare fuel.

(We tend to lose power easily with any weather event, so I made them tonight just in case!)

Been having a very frustrating week, so I got revenge by having the most brutal leg day at the gym ever. I'm adding workouts that focus on mountain stuff. Take that, week!!

Also I'm pleased to report I went down 2(!!!) slopes this time, and each one took me like 1.5- 2 hrs each. (Compared to my first time, it took me 3 hrs to get down 1 slope).
Mr. Wolverine has me working on big turns.
PROGRESS.

Learning to ski at 36 (with a fear of heights and going fast lolll) is wild. I watch little kids skillfully zoom past me as I fall for the 30th time. This morning I feel like I got run over by a truck.
But it's never too late to learn a new skill!!! Anxiety be damned!

Started my next basket attempt before my next skiing attempt today. This is more of what I wanted haha. Gonna see how big I can go!

Made a little coiled basket out of old jeans my friend gave me. First time coiling! I got so into the process, I didn't pay enough attention to form and ended up with this pot shape haha.
Added a handle and now it holds my journaling pens!
Will definitely try again, this was fun!!

Trying my best to embrace some quiet time after a busy December and multiple ADK trips. Leaning into the post-excitement time is so hard.

The struggle is real! It helped me to do some hard reflection on where I learned that guilt over not being productive 24/7 from (thanks ma lol) and when I feel it coming on I say GET OUT OF HERE! YOU'RE A CREEEP! WE WERE HAVING A GOOD TIME TIL YOU SHOWED UP (like that segment from Freakazoid lmao)

In her defense, Rudy used to bury her poops for her when she was a kitten. I think she never realized her technique doesn't cut it...

You totally will, just be gentle and patient with yourself. The biggest problem I had (which probably made it take longer tbh) was feeling guilty about not making stuff! But eff that noise, it's bananas to expect anybody to be hyper productive for years and years!

I hope you get some much needed recovery time! Burnout is so real, there's no shame in stepping away to recover. I'm only just recently coming out of a long art burnout, and I don't think I'll ever be at the output volume I used to be, but I'm okay with that.

Aw gosh, thank you! The pattern is from a maker named Biyabimi. I'm pretty new to crochet and am not sure if it would be weird to submit her design? But maybe it would be good advertising for folks to buy her pattern.. I'll ask!
