Yes. They want the terrorists to manufacture consent for colonialism
31.10.2025 17:37 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Who in the democratic electorate has even said "We want to go back to normal" to begin with? Where is normal? Is it 2015? 2008? 1996? 1965? The entire premise doesn't even make sense, let alone the answer that normal is somehow andrew fucking cuomo.
26.10.2025 19:03 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0omg ππ this is so cute and the wings are so clever
24.10.2025 18:48 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0It makes me feel a soul crushing dread how fast he dropped all of the democrat veneer the second he lost the primary. Most of our democrat elected officials would do the same in his shoes.
23.10.2025 16:47 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0And also don't shit on the next person for having it easier than you! The whole point of society is to do things to help others!
22.10.2025 20:49 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Cuomo is literally out here shitting on a candidate whose policies could reasonably appear as a plot point on a heartwarming episode of parks and rec
22.10.2025 20:48 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I think they considered getting more personal career success and invites to more events as equal to more americans agreeing with them. Incredibly billionaire-coded mentality.
22.10.2025 06:22 β π 12 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0we should definitely replace it with a board of industry positions voted in each by the workers of the industries they represent, with some exceptions like all americans voting on foreign policy head and military leader. they should need at 2/3 majority to veto.
No one should have this much power.
I teach computer science and just finished midterms, and the amount of students complaining about their hands hurting after writing with a pencil for an hour was actually mind boggling. That and the number of students asking why I teach XYZ because chatGPT can just do it for them.
21.10.2025 16:20 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's always the liberals trying to throw a big tent over the left and it is making less and less sense as the years go on
20.10.2025 22:21 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0it's incredible how obvious all of your political moves seem once you remove billionaires from the equation, but also how revolutionary they seem in this system that has had billionaires for so long.
19.10.2025 20:21 β π 21 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Andrew, we're voting you off the island and back to the suburbs.
Our new ad just aired during Survivor.
Like, the billionaires still need the products of labor to be generated in order to continue selling those products and amassing their fortunes. They cannot do this if the AI does not work, and it doesn't. That would be the same as just closing their business.
15.10.2025 22:32 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0But it will not actually do that labor. This is billionaires lying to other billionaires about what AI can actually do in order to swindle them. It does not and cannot accurately replace employees, OpenAI just published a paper about how hallucinations are a mathematical inevitability.
15.10.2025 22:32 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I think it's beginning to work against them. A lot of voters are now seeing constant ads and tons of donors as a direct indicator of who not to vote for. They don't have the people so the money is the only tool in their belt.
15.10.2025 20:09 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This one has bothered me the most. Like, if america came under famine would you not expect the disabled to be the first to suffer and die? If you had a child with cerebral palsy or a seizure disorder or blunt force trauma, would you be okay having their death handwaved away during mass starvation?
13.10.2025 16:19 β π 22 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I think you're filling in a bunch of arguments you assumed I made from the words I actually said.
11.10.2025 02:08 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I don't think americans have a say in anything. I said that no country, anywhere in any context, can be both a liberal democracy and religiously homogenous. Israel can choose to be religiously homogenous, but they will need to stop being a liberal democracy to do so american opinions notwithstanding
11.10.2025 02:08 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0my final point here, nothing about the vatican as it exists right now is a liberal democracy. My original point about religious countries being mutually exclusive with liberal democracies is strengthened by the vatican's existence, not weakened.
10.10.2025 17:03 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0the vatican also has the weird twist of citizenship being temporary and solely based on employment, so you can't even accurately say it's a religious requirement. it's a job-based requirement and the jobs are catholic-based.
10.10.2025 16:59 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0if the citizens of the vatican woke up one day and all decided that it shouldn't be catholic anymore, i would support them in that effort and would therefore say that right now i don't think it's correct that catholics always deserve their own country forever, either.
10.10.2025 16:57 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I honestly do feel the same way about the vatican in theory, but no one is born or raised in the city so it uses the governing structure of italy to outsource all of these issues away. The vatican is not attempting to be a homeland for anyone.
10.10.2025 16:55 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I think it helps that I have a day job in the industry and have seen who is advertising "experience with AI" and how well those people have been doing once in positions. I think my colleagues who are solely in academia are falling for the koolaid a bit harder because they aren't out there anymore
10.10.2025 16:49 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I teach computer science and i'm still on the no-AI train. my students skills have tanked since chatGPT came out. If LLMs worked, I would not have noticed a difference in assignments or grades.
I'm weirdly grateful i'm in the position i am to see how bad it is without using it myself.
alternatively, you could allow immigration or conversion or marriage externally, but just state that only the religion members are able to have government control no matter what proportion of the population they are. This also no longer counts as a liberal democracy.
10.10.2025 05:39 β π 12 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I disagree with this first part tbh. A state can't be committed to both religious homogeneity and liberal democracy, even if they're not colonizing someone else. Eventually one will have to win. Either you ban immigration/marriage/conversion to other religions or you no longer have your own state.
10.10.2025 05:37 β π 19 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Last weeks episode literally just had a cooked chicken breast in a bag that you rip open and eat. Marketed as a protein bar. I could not believe my eyes.
10.10.2025 01:19 β π 14 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0They literally declared in a lawsuit that they purposefully showed favoritism towards clinton but that it wasn't illegal because they're a private business and don't have to be unbiased when organizing internally.
05.10.2025 17:33 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0if the most dedicated and hardcore supporters are not excited, they do not talk to their friends, families, and coworkers about the election. These friends, family, and coworkers are generally less informed/politically unengaged. they will stay that way without the engaged being activated positively
05.10.2025 17:32 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I agree about the "saved time" so much. They don't spend it creating art, spending more time with their friends, engaging in fun hobbies or discussions, going to cool events, literally anything. It's just empty time.
Not only that, the writing code time is only like, 10% max of my job lol
