They believe in conspiracies that Jewish people do this to confuse people and to make Jewish people seem larger by counting atheists as Jews

The simple fact remains. A Jewish person is someone born Jewish or converted to Judaism

Most people who want Jewish people to creaate a separate identity for Jewish people who practice Judaism — aren’t Jewish.

In fact most of those people don’t even like Jewish people and harbor hatred towards Jews.

I just told you that, in my opinion that was a mistake of the Rabbis and I am sure I am not alone in this. If they say they consider themselves Jewish I would definitely accept that.

I would not accept someone who wasn’t born Jewis, deciding that conversion is too tough and they will declare

If a Chinese or Japannese person converts to Judaism then they are equally Jewish

There are even secular Jewish groups that do a conversion for atheists who really want to be Jewish

They are told the conversion is binding and they will always be Jewish people equal to anyone born Jewish

Once a person converts they become Jewish

They are Jews. That’s why I say the identity of being Jewish is not the same, and can’t strictly be interpreted as another identity

Genetics are not relevant

It Is not a racial group, though people treat Jews as Such.

One can be a Jewish person and not pratice the religion of the Jewish people

But one cannot practice the religion of Judaism and not be considered Jewish

Sure, a person could lie. They could say I am Jewish and not be Jewish. I take people at face value until they say something to change your mind

But it would be incredibly odd for a person who wanted to follow Judaism to then not follow Judaism and be converted.

I am not going into esoteric arguments

I would consider them Jewish. I think the Rabbis did a get disservice by cutting them off

It’s not exactly the same religion but I consider it a branch

Let’s make this clear

One can’t convert to Judaism without joining the Tribe of Israel

I don’t want to get into a theological argument or even conversation with Christians, Atheists etc

It’s always possible to answer the question with a more detailed answer

Personally I just identify as Jewish, their is no need to know anything more than that.

All converts are told they are joining the tribe of the Jewish people.

I have heard non Jewish people say that Jewish people should use two identities

Hebrew for being Jewish and Jewish following Judaism, for their benefit

Being non Jewish means no one cares what they think

It should be made perfectly clear that one doesn’t just agree to practice the Jewish religion that one becomes Jewish

Converts are equally Jewish as any other Jewish person

Judaism pre-dates the notion of religion separate from identity

You convert, their is no deco version possible

That if you aren’t willing or able to follow the laws of Judaism it’s better not to convert

You can eat a bacon egg and cheese sandwich while driving in your car, no problem

Judaism says that one doesn’t need to be Jewish to get right with God

People who want to convert are told they should follow the Noahide laws and that would be fine. Orthodox Jews place the burden of following Judaism on Jewish people

So if one goes to an orthodox rabbi they will tell you once

It’s hard enough to get Jewish people even listed in any poll. When Jews are listed it’s the WHOLE community

Meanwhile anyone who is born Jewis, regardless if they practice Judaism or believe in Judaism still Jewish

TL: DR majority or Jews understand the point of the question an would say Jewish

That the Jewish people are brainwashed, or clinging to their identity. I have used the no true atheist and no true Jewish argument more times than I think possible

It’s the Jewish identify that is a tiny Fraction of the population and it’s the community of Jews that needs to be represented

Also, far far too many atheists get all twisted out of shape at the mear mentioning of Jewish atheist.

They claim it doesn’t exist, it’s impossible.

I would assume (because I am a member of the community I have far more knowledge than people outside the community)

That Jewish atheist identify as Jewish if given the choice between Jewish or atheist. It is the Jewish identify that means something to most people not the atheist identity

It would be people who identify as Jewish

It’s well understood that when one says they are Jewish it’s referring to the identity of being Jewish

Even with Judaism it’s the religion of Judaism that many don’t agree with but it’s their religion they don’t believe in

In the United States

It’s White People that are the problem

You don’t have a different opinion of White Christian Nationalist and Black Christians

And ’some’ face racism

Trump is a white nationalist movement and if you are a white nationalist he doesn’t care if you are a Christian or an atheist
