The original publications on #XIST ruled out there were ORF matching the sequence and showed accumulation of the RNA in the nucleus but are these sufficient to rule out protein coding regions? I assume if there were they should have been discovered… or not?

To the #XchromosomeInactivation field: anyone knows Xist is a long #noncodingRNA Which publication has ruled out that there are protein coding regions within it? And how?

If I said β€œno” we would not have heating/air conditioning on the floor, no -80C, no working ground centrifuges, no toilet paper and a few seminars less from international speakers. No Epigenetic course at PhD students… this from my faculty.
