I'm a lefty too but know that if I watch some crank video (because this same friend asked me what I thought of it for example) I then have to start hitting the "Not interested " button on similar videos it starts offering me, to get it to stop recommending those.

Just anecdotal but one old friend who went from old school lefty to crank complaining about “woke” was largely because of YouTube IMO, which is all he watches. He doesn’t understand how if he watches one conspiracy theory video it feeds him others, so just thinks “This is the prevailing view”
