I'm not surprised. I managed to break a couple of those joysticks playing Jelly Monsters on the VIC-20, the plastic stick cover would just rip right off. We moved on to Kraft joysticks by the time we got a C64, far more reliable.

The open box of The Three Stooges. The back cover can be seen with blurb, screenshots and popcorn fitting in with the Cinemaware theme. Two 3.5" disks, a manual and a quick start guide are included.
My #RandomGameSaturday this week is The Three Stooges for the Amiga. I got this because I'd enjoyed Cinemaware's Defender of the Crown when I first got my Amiga, but the game loop in this isn't quite so satisfying. Still looked and sounded great, though.

The Leader Board after nine holes - player Rob has five bogies, three birdies and one par. Several of the bogies are double or triple. Seven over par.
My first round of Leader Board since the eighties has been a bit up and down. I should have found a scan of the instructions instead of trying to guess what club to use.

07.02.2026 20:01 β π 6 π 3 π¬ 0 π 0The box for John Madden American Football for the Amiga from Electronic Arts. The cover shows a running back being tackled by a defender while a blocker looks on. Note that the 'American' is in a much smaller font, I expect only added for European markets. See the picture of the manual for a discrepancy.
The back cover of the John Madden American Football box with some text and screenshots under the heading "Big, tough, bone-crunching!"
What's inside the box: a manual and two floppy disks. Note that the manual is for "John Madden Football" and does not include the "American' as on the box art.
Some pages from the John Madden Football manual with diagrams for some of the offensive and defensive audibles.
It's the day before the Superbowl, I've saved the best football themed #RandomGameSaturday until last: it's John Madden Football for the Amiga. I've owned many of the sequels on many different systems but this was my first. It was a new benchmark in terms of combining simulation and presentation.

Loved this game in the 80s and I still love it now, I was playing it last night π
Thank you for creating it!
It's an AI image of a Commodore PET for no good reason at all. The chickenhead logo is fucked up. There's calculator keys on the bit where the cassette goes on the original PET-2001, and there's *real* keys on the bit where the calculator-style keys would have gone on a PET that actually had a built-in tape drive. They could have used one of many images of a real Commodore PET but someone, in their infinite wisdom, thought "actually nah let's use a fucked up AI image instead". I am properly irked. No reason for it at all.
Saw this on FB and it made me cry a little. The post was for a good cause, nothing wrong with that, but for pity's sake why use a terrible AI image of the poor PET? There are a million pictures of actual PETs online, just use one of those for pity's sake.
06.02.2026 00:53 β π 30 π 5 π¬ 4 π 2Jerry Lawson, the inventor of the video game cartridge.
This is Jerry Lawson. He invented the video game cartridge for the Fairchild Channel F system. Because of his invention, many consoles had cartridges and CD formats and would become the norm.
The Atari 2600, NES, Genesis, and many consoles wouldn't exist without him.
Happy Black History Month.
Could you do me a favour & share this video pls?
Trying to see something... I know lots of people are experiencing lower YT views, but I want to see if boosting external links/shares makes a difference.
Plus, if you like old vs new T2 games. Pls have a watch :)

40 years ago I was playing Uridium. It had (for the time) excellent graphics and felt technically slick and polished, giving it an authentic arcade feel that was very important to us way back when. However, these days its ridiculous difficulty level makes it hard to truly enjoy.
