Really highlighted that idea of an external power impressing their own interpretation on a people. Like how we all now say Kyiv instead of Kiev.

Followed this up with another long overdue rewatch: "Waiting for Guffman". The way that Catherine O'Hara screams every lyric and barks every word of 'Red, White and Blaine' it's one of the best performances of a bad actor that you'll ever see.

Just watched "A Mighty Wind" for the first time in about 20 years. Catherine O'Hara and Eugene Levy are the beating heart of that film, so beautifully balancing comedy (folk songs about bladder management) and pathos (A Kiss at the End of the Rainbow). God, she'll be missed.
