I wish I could be shocked but the USA has been engaged in mass killings using drones and missiles in Iraq and Afghanistan for years, under multiple presidents (including Saint Obama). Double tap strikes in particular have been used routinely by USA since 2008. This type of war crime is not new.

He bet that enough of America is either absolutely morally bankrupt or utterly detached from reality or so infected with a deranged christofascist cult they will not oppose ANYTHING he does from massive theft to murder of fishermen to rape of children. And he’s right. We can’t keep denying this.

He has held a mirror up to America and however sick the image, it isn’t a lie. He is stealing billions, he uses the entire power of the state to extort cash and contracts from foreign governments etc - and there’s no meaningful opposition. No jail time. Nothing. He’s right. That’s what hurts.

In the end what enrages so many of us most about Trump is that he is right. For a decade and more he bet that he can do whatever the F he wants however evil and corrupt and disgusting and his base will still love him and the billionaires will back him as long as they get rich too. And he’s right.
