We know from the studies on burnout that engaging with special interests is one way to alleviate the adverse effects of camouflaging, and I suspect that may have something to do with that statistical relationship we found.

Similar to previous studies, we found gender differences in different CAT-Q scores of self-reported camouflaging. We also found that more engagement with strong interests was associated with more camouflaging.
