But I was told by everyone on the right that the only person who could deploy the National Guard (or prevent the deployment of the National Guard) was Nancy Pelosi.

Oh, I agree. But I do think that IF McConnell had done the decent, correct, caring thing for our country, he would have encouraged the Repub Senators to vote to convict trump after the impeachment, and would have also voted to convict him. That would have permanently freed our country from trump.

Raskin: In any event, if he really cared about public safety in DC… he would not have pardoned 1600 insurrectionists and violent cop beaters on his first day in office. 

The military takeover of Washington is not a “distraction” from Epstein. It’s a military takeover of Washington, which is an even bigger deal, and those of us who kill brain cells reporting on this stuff knows it’s been an explicit goal since before the election.

This is concerning during Trump’s press conference, he portrayed Washington as a testing ground, a place to prove MAGA can manage and “revitalize” cities better than Democrats, with the goal of making it a model for other Democratic-led cities across the USA. A model for what exactly, martial law?

What we see happening in real time is actually part of Martial Law. Oh, it hasn’t been officially declared, but his federal takeover plans for cities across the nation…under the cloak of “attacking crime,” is pre-positioning for when he does. It will happen prior to the November elections. Watch.

What is happening in D.C. is just a trial run. The ultimate goal is to be able to use force to take over and subdue any city/state that didn't vote for Trump.

He didn’t physically force them, but he used his position as Senate Majority Leader to “persuade” them not to vote to convict. I remember a lot of news reports about it at the time. But yes, each of those spineless Republicans Senators who didn’t vote to convict also deserve part of the blame.

DC statehood is now an imperative. No more dicking around. Next Dem majority, get it done immediately.
