I got diagnosed at 43 years old after helping my 17 year old fill out the questionnaire when he was diagnosed.

Whenever someone tries to silence me, it only makes me louder.

I know what it’s like to have a hand over my mouth and a boot on my neck. I know what it’s like to have someone steal your voice from you.

But I got out of it.
I emerged stronger.

And I will never let anyone silence me ever again.

I'm sorry. I could have written this exact post verbatim. I watch Christmas movies with very dysfunctional families who treat each other like sh*t and, although I know it's meant to be comedy, I wonder, "Why would you put yourself through that?"

Remind yourself that you're worth being treated well.
