Not sure where I saw it but someone said that DC punks didn't just write songs about guys like Kavanaugh. They wrote songs *specifically* about him.

I've seen the Buffalo Gals video a number of times on Vevo 80s and love it. While it doesn't sound much at all like present hip-hop, it's a great example of how abstract a lot of early hip-hop was. Trevor Horn's memoir has a great chapter on its creation.
