As a disability advocate, I think it’s appalling how many people are fine letting disabled folks starve because they think “survival of the fittest” means we should die.

But here’s the thing… no one should be starving.

The richest country in the world can afford to feed everyone.

Making the general population unhappy by driving them into poverty, hunger, sickness and homelessness… is not a recipe for a peaceful society. It worries me greatly.

I told my friend this week to take a COVID test and much to their surprise they were covid positive with no symptoms and the problem is it’s not harmless and folks still transmit to others. Now they are home resting.

Many of us were “young & otherwise healthy” when we became ill

We were working & couldn’t imagine being unable to earn a living

We didn’t plan to become disabled. We didn’t plan to stop working

It can happen to anyone

I remember grocery shopping with my dad when I was a kid (late 90s) and I remember the receipt being for something like $175. Two adults, four kids ranging 10-18.

$400 per month is a pitiful amount that can't afford nutritious food.

My theory is the evil people in charge know they're evil. That's why they're obviously miserable even though they spend a lot of effort trying to convince everyone (and themselves!) they're actually having a good time
