I respect my last class on Tuesday for the agenda they’ve built:
- same warmup focusing on crossbody movements
- 30ish minutes of jazz
- 10ish minutes of critter charades where I then try to find a new to them song for whatever critter they each pick 1/2🧵

Woke up at 0720.
Took a full dose of meds instead of halfing it.
Played that clip of Southern University “Still Fly” and Tom Holland lip singing Umbrella a few times.

Hopeful to teach dance but here for big holds and seated circle dances if that’s what the day demands.

Today in Modern Dance Teacher Problems

Having a group of 1st-4th graders try to convince me that Pink Pony Club is a school song and proceed to belt it at me in its entirety. . .cause the Pink Pony Club is like Chuck E Cheese, but full of pink ponies.

Their goals:

- at least be able to do a scorpion but try to get a needle
- learn some stomp and shake cheers from the 90s like their moms and grandmas know 😅🤣
- have water breaks freely but will try to finish the song
- do some dances where they can sing
- have a cool down to Enya 🧵 3 of 3

Their first order of business was declaring this the #1 Monday Squishmallow Girls Rule Dance Day. . .they made it clear boys are great, but this is for them. 🧵 2 of 3

Started class with a new to me set of primarily 2nd and 3rd grade girls the way I usually do; while there are some things we *have* to do, they largely get to pick what we do. 🧵1 of 3
