14.02.2026 08:03 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Then she wanted to go see The Scarecrowsβ Wedding in the cinema today because βIβve already seen it at home, but I really want to see it in the cinemaβ.
13.02.2026 15:21 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0My daughter, who is Frozen obsessed like so many, specifically asked to watch Flow this weekendβ¦
13.02.2026 08:49 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Letβs make sure the new Old Trafford gets built, then perhaps we can shove one of this enormous spires up Jim Ratcliffeβs arse, and perch him up there so I donβt need to hear him flapping his gums again.
12.02.2026 19:55 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I'm happy for Tom, this sounds great, and I can't wait for when my daughter is old enough to watch Jurassic Park...but..."slightly outdated sfx"?! I beg your pardon?!
09.02.2026 13:14 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0My wife is American, and that half of the family has adjusted pretty well to not defaulting to "England" but to "UK". However, one occasionally slips past, and it's still amusing to me when they catch themselves, glance at me, and a form of sheer terror seems to build in their eyes.
09.02.2026 13:11 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0At risk of engaging in major over-analysis, there's part of me that thinks the time the Radiohead track for Spectre was shelved was a real sliding doors moment for the Bond franchise.
09.02.2026 13:07 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I had to generously assume he was getting confused with Nova Scotia, but it's still pretty bad.
09.02.2026 12:57 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Watched a few @evanedinger.bsky.social videos recently and Iβm reminded of the time someone in Texas asked me where I was from, and when I said βScotlandβ his reply was βOh cool, thatβs the place in Canada right?β
09.02.2026 12:30 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0That BlueSky map puts me an order of magnitude closer to UK left wing politics than film criticism - not terribly sure what to do with that information (albeit very close to a more general βBritish Artsβ cluster). And very close to βUK Liberal Democratsβ & I *really* donβt know what to do with that.
09.02.2026 11:13 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Feeling like we need a Star Wars show set between VI and VII detailing how placating fascists led to The First Order stealing babies and building planet-sized weapons of mass destruction 30 years after the last space nazis were toppled
22.09.2025 16:23 β π 7 π 3 π¬ 0 π 0After this weekendβs Six Nations results I would like to inform everyone I am now Italian and you should be referring to me as Giacomo Rossi. DOVβΓ LA VITTORIA?

08.02.2026 08:14 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Canβt access article, but yes. Rarely a month goes by w/out an article/viral social post that disgusts me in how some talk about other people. Very young, developing people, but people. Some parents *do* make silly choices about where to take kids, but itβs rarely the subject of those stories.
08.02.2026 08:12 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Iβm not old, but Iβm certainly not young anymore. Whenever I hear someone say βsix sevenβ I feel like my slow and inevitable death of brain cells accelerates a little.
08.02.2026 08:08 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Somewhere among you is a young person with the potential to be the next James Baldwin, but they are now online writing: "Is cortisol-maxxing via monk mode more EV than SMV chadfishing while mogging moids in mixed-use nightlife zones?"
08.02.2026 07:01 β π 2285 π 122 π¬ 58 π 18I have to say, the βAI democratises art and creativityβ argument has always seemed like horseshit to me, but it seems especially batty when the going minimum rate for any of these things is at least Β£20/month, if not more.
08.02.2026 07:58 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A 2 panel sketch disgram of a 1 meter tall pod. in the second panel, an oval section pops off and a demonic little face with short tentacles flies out, crudely drawn.
My favorite artifact in the "you don't need AI to do art" discourse is, of course, screenwriter Dan O'Bannon's sketch of the facehugger to explain it to Giger.
07.02.2026 18:39 β π 9132 π 2821 π¬ 77 π 91Was reading over a job spec (not for anyone in the household, snoopers) which genuinely listed as a hiring criteria "Excellent IT skills including MS Office" in the year of our lord 2026.

07.02.2026 04:58 β π 7 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0Gervais has put out some really funny work in his career, but he's become such a fucking boomer bore. Being in love with the sound of your own voice might be tolerable if you say interesting things. "You know nothing about the real world" is the sort of thing drunk bores you avoid in pubs say.
03.02.2026 10:24 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 1An hour-long episode dissecting how the capitalist hellscape in which we live is demonstrated via a 2-minute Super Bowl advert would be Phenomenally On Brandβ’Β©

On a recent primary school tour the headteacher mentioned they needed to look at how they could use AI to improve their teaching and I shuddered.

03.02.2026 08:02 β π 7 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The fact Epstein seems to have had a separate βvacationβ email address is genuinely another marker of being an absolute psychopath.

And whenever I hear anyone say Emerald Fi-nell, rather than Emerald Fenn-el (a la the plant/herb), this is the only picture I have in my head.
02.02.2026 15:53 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Anyway...roll on Wuthering Heights, I guess.
02.02.2026 15:48 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 3 π 0I wonder if BlueSky will be quite as insistent as Xitter that Emerald Fennell's films to date are the modern pseudo-masterpieces they were made out to be there. For clarity: I think Saltburn is absolute empty-faux-provocateur shite, and Promising Young Woman was interesting but extremely messy.
02.02.2026 15:48 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0The Firefox container tabs feature is an absolute killer for me. Since segregating Google/Meta/Socmedia/General browsing into what are essentially separate environments I get far fewer weird targeted ads. I can also separate work and personal accounts easily. Chrome 'profiles' not on the same level.
