Trump came out earlier today and said "Christianity is under assault" in the immediate aftermath of the LDS Church attack and yeah Christians attacking other Christians is actually incredibly on brand, historically speaking at least.

We really do need to stop referring to "Christianity" as some sort of monolith religion because it absolutely isn't and many Christians do not view other Christians as adherents.

I don't post much any more, but for everyone poring over the manifesto, scrawlings, and footprint following the Minneapolis shooting, here's a timesaver.
The aim is to be remembered, discussed, to turn oneself into content that then becomes the next reference on a gun.

The Minnesota shooter seems more or less straight out of the nihilistic violent extremist handbook. There's echoes of Columbine, Sandy Hook, etc. here. In one clip you could "Ted K." (unabomber) and "Robert Bowers" (Pittsburgh) written on his guns. He referenced Adam Lanza in his screed.

I've seen the depths of both sides of this and I strongly agree with @theondrakguy.bsky.social

In the circles that venerate mass shooters, these symbols has become shorthand for the willingness to commit extreme violence, and sometimes just a shortcut for wanting to be edgy on the internet.
