Here’s a graph I threw together of Bluesky’s activity (millions). There’s more people using the platform month over month, but less engagement overall. This is normal for social media platforms, as later-adopters tend to be read-only.

I made a graph with the trends this post & article misrepresent. Yes, engagement has gone down in Bluesky. But more people are actively using the platform month over month. This is normal for social platforms, as later-adopters tend to be read-only.

Social Repose has been around for like 20 years. Stopped watching after he was outed as a creep.

In my heart, I believe that Kamala lost bc she’s a Black woman. The campaign made some grievous errors, but a white male candidate would have survived. I think about that about once every hour these days. All of this hell visited on us, it’s bc of that original sin.

Oh! Yeah I agree. Earlier in the conflict, I’d buy SIM cards for Palestinians every week, plus donating to families. I miss that, but the economy is absolutely wrecking me rn, so it’s gotten more rare.

This sucks because I’d love to have a recommendation for people rightfully trying to jump ship from Microsoft’s enshittification OS.

It’s a joke. But I’ve tried pretty much all of the popular distros, and even some designed for user friendliness like popos.

Nothing about Linux is usable for the average person yet. Unless their use case is extremely simple (opening websites, sending emails). Even then, something’s bound to break

I’m with you on LibreOffice, but no government employee has time to write the 10 commandments into a black screen in hopes of a functioning computer.

Good thing the government hired a random 22 year old former gardener to operate our terrorism prevention apparatus 😍 That way, after America fumbles the war they started for no reason, they can also fumble the resulting attacks.

Someone needs to install the β€œsave image as type” browser extension. Sure, it’s inefficient to convert a hyper-compressed format like WEBP to a semi-lossless format like PNG, but at least you can use it!

When the Cass Review came out last year, the NYT rushed to cover it complete with post notifications. After reviews in Germany and Utah came out supporting gender affirming care for trans youth, dead silence. You can be just as biased in what you don't cover as what you do.

the deportations are not final. the regime and security forces fuck up constantly. escape and survival are not just possible but probable. this nightmare engine can be fought and is being fought.

don't forget.

Yeah. Mistakes were always a sign I’d never amount to anything & would die alone as some sort of subhuman husk. My reaction to failures really echoes that sentiment, though I’ve gotten better over the years!

I guess I’m genuinely curious if that’s accurate, as during the recession I was a pre-teen. Though I think our pending recession will be more akin to early 2000’s conservatism than 2009.

You’re probably right but I’d love to know why you don’t find β€œyoung people were destitute, hence occupy wall street, so they partied to fun music” compelling.

Although I think Katy’s old material contains some great 2000’s pop rock, I would never compare her to Gaga. It’s clear Gaga made bigger and better statements, while Katy was more β€œI’m soooo quirky”

01.05.2025 06:16 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

I think it could be argued that Katy’s super early career was Gaga-adjacent. β€œI Kissed a Girl” and β€œUr So Gay” occupied the same vein of discussions as Gaga’s controversies. A lot of people forget Katy’s whole brand was vague edginess, hence β€œOne Of The Boys”

Essentially, I saw trans representation and the political climate wasn’t fixated on it before I developed a frontal lobe. To be fair though, while I identify as a cis man, I do use he/they pronouns. Gender has always felt like a bunch of demands I never consented to.

I was raised Jehovah’s Witness and there was a huge focus on homosexuality. However, they didn’t really acknowledge trans people, so I never developed a strong bias there. Also, I met some trans people as a teen. Homophobia made sense to me (I’m gay married now) while transphobia never clicked.

Do you have examples? I’m struggling to think of any others beyond Walz, Crockett, Omar, and Pressley. You could make the argument for Booker too but his record isn’t great.

It’s so sad we only have a small handful of halfway-decent politicians. More should join them on these tours tbh.
