Fair enough!

Curious - what’s the objection?

Any local farmers make buttermilk or yogurt? Same calcium content per volume as milk.

The world in which you still want the milk to taste nice! Above 80 and the taste really changes - also it cools down much faster. You want to cool the milk very quickly so that any remaining bacteria don’t multiply while the milk is warm.

Don’t even have to boil it. 72c for 15 seconds is sufficient.

Also interesting how he considers organized inclusiveness to be a self-destructive catastrophe.

1) I don’t see how a full-blown public military coup would have seemed a good idea at the time and 2) The CJCS has no operational command authority.

I’m sure a majority this large could find four Republicans to enforce the 14th amendment against.

Or as it’s known in the U.S. senate - young people.

I don’t understand the problem at all. Bond is not serialized. They can just ignore it.

πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ just ignore it? The films aren’t serialized.

But SNAP and WIC will now be decoupled from the fight, which is a Good Thing.

Shocking, the number of people who seem to think he was President from Jan 1, 1980 - December 31, 1989.

He looks like a SPECTRE henchmen who gets drop into a pit full of man eating spider crabs

He isn’t defecting - the whole thing was arranged with schemers blessing and how it played out worked out in the caucus.

Several people have asked me if Mr. Waggins is a β€œmini Bernese.” I bite my cheek when explaining that there is no such thing.

If it doesn’t establish civil liability as a qui tam action, then it’s somewhat pointless as Trump can issue a blanket pardon.

Some sober thoughts on a decision i dont really like.

1. It's admittedly pragmatic to look at this as a gambling metaphor. You are on a streak and are ahead of the house here. You are better off cashing out the chips now or soon than continuing the game. No one knows how this looks late november

What was your theory of victory?

10.11.2025 18:54 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

There’s a reason only 3 presidents have been elected from Congress in the past 100 years (and 4 in 137), and all were in their first Senate term. Legislative voting is strategic, forces you to take positions than narrow national appeal and accomplishments are collectivized.

10.11.2025 18:50 β€” πŸ‘ 9    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

No, they didn’t. The invoked cloture on the motion to proceed. They still have to move the amendment, invoke cloture on the amendment, pass the amendment, invoke cloture on final passage then vote on final passage, then send it to the House.

Unfortunately the β€œcavers” are some of the worst communicators in the caucus and there wasn’t time for comms to put together a coherent messaging strategy.

He might, if he wants to go the illegal impoundment route. But that will be entirely on him, and not because Democrats held up a vote to fund SNAP.

10.11.2025 15:56 β€” πŸ‘ 3    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Throwing civil servants - some of your greatest allies and a group which you will need on sides in a big way for any reconstruction effort - to the wolves so quickly is fucking stupid. It's peak bluesky, mind unable to correlate even its obviously correlated contents.

10.11.2025 11:51 β€” πŸ‘ 55    πŸ” 11    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Creating conditions where civil servants who have not already been illegally fired or chased out are forced to quit to put food on the table is almost as good as DOGEing them yourself. This was not a good end to the shutdown, but for Christ's sake some of you have no sense about you.

10.11.2025 11:51 β€” πŸ‘ 39    πŸ” 5    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

There is an utter failure on this site to understand how things fit together.

Let me spell it out slowly: If you have been posting for 10 months about power politics and how Trump and Vought want to politicize the civil service, you should not want to turn the existing civil service against us.
