Seeing MKR ads during the #BrownlowMedal count has prompted me to send out my annual reminder:

I reckon you could also change it so that kicking it through the goals is 6 points. And maybe that a kick that is caught on the full means you can’t be tackled

Blackburn playing deep forward has been confusing me all year. Is it fitness? Coming back from injury?

Howard paved the way for Abbott, Morrison and the Liberal Party's 'women problem' New analysis argues that under John Howard, the Liberal Party became increasingly influenced by a social conservatism that emphasised traditional gender norms.

Howard was a disaster not just for the Liberal Party but for Australia. His legacy lives on in the divisions in modern Australia. Great article here by Patricia Karvalas exploring one part of this; how the Liberal Party abandoned women’s issues.

Australia has a politician problem: not too many, but too few.

There are nine times the number of voters than in 1903, but the number of MPs has only doubled. Maybe it's time for our representative democracy to get a bit more representative?

Judging by the results it’s obvious that some people out there in Australian music land have never spent a raucous and sweaty smoke filled beer swilling sticky stained carpet go mental moshing kind of night at places like the Great Britain, Sarah Sands and the Tote etc etc. #Hottest100

On July 2, the Australia Institute wrote to Environment Minister Murray Watt, asking he make public the conditions imposed on the extension of Woodside’s North West Shelf.

We have not received a response.

Yeah, a key weakness is 1on1 defensive contests. If the ball is hard to mark it might just take the edge off that risk

A justice of exception
In 1759, there were some 1800 First Nations warriors around QuΓ©bec.
The French needed their support to learn about their warrior techniques and take advantage of their knowledge of the land. To maintain their alliances, the French army had no choice but to adopt a conciliatory approach towards the First Nations. The army tolerated some of their customs and habits, and occasionally even participated in them. For example, when a dispute arose between First Nations and the Canadians, the crime was often resolved in the manner of the First Nations, rather than according to French law, which irritated some Canadians who failed to receive the compensation anticipated.
Among the First Nations, the consequence of a serious crime such as murder was death, expediently and without a trial. Otherwise, most crimes were settled through gifts given to the victim by the guilty party or his close relatives. Theft was rare, because according to their values, the resources belonged to everyone. The concept of ownership was not the same among the Canadians, which brought its share of problems.
Things were different for the British. They did not have many allies around QuΓ©bec. In the British colonies, the First Nations were subject to British law and they even went as far as to use the colonial courtr to settle their disputer.

If your museum is mostly going to ignore Indigenous people and perspectives, maybe it would be useful if the one "fact" you present about them isn't incorrect.

(No, this is not how murder was treated under Haudenosaunee law.)
