Avian influenza is especially concerning. Listening to Michael Osterholm, PhD speak about "reassortment of genetic materials" gives me pause. Cows and pigs have (as stated on CIDRAP) receptors for both the "human" and avian strains of flu. Sounds like an ongoing process to me-with lots of variables.
