They're not kidding about being wired differently if they're removing Phillip Island from the calendar.

After two underwhelming competitions from the men and pairs, the women's comp has been just fantastic so far.

It won't let me, it still says the device is not registered, and there's no option to add another device or another verification method from my laptop.

Ah, the joys of MFA. I set up a passkey on my laptop for an airline website and now I can't log into the app because I can't set up another passkey on my phone. And there's no way to fix it without contacting the airline and waiting 3 days. Good thing I didn't only realise at the airport.

What is happening in this men's competition, I told my parents to watch the last group and it seems it intimidated everyone.

Nearly a decade in London and my success rate for viewings with British flatmates continues to be exactly 0%. I imagine outside of London we'd have to invent different statistical measurements altogether.

I feel like the narrative around the backflip has gone a bit off track. They didn't remove the ban for Malinin, he only started doing the move after the ban was lifted. It was Adam Siao Him Fa who brought it back to official competition.

Watched the halftime show and remembered that one time we kept talking about Big Bunny with my friends and only realised about 10 minutes in that's not his name.

Rizzo saved Italy's bacon with that performance and how cool to get your season best under the pressure of an Olympic final.

I don't think I've seen Ilia's short program before because I'd definitely remember this odd costume-song combo.

There's no upset like an Olympic upset and day 1 delivered.

And what a race from Franjo to earn those plushies.

I love how Olympic competitions are so intense and serious and then they get not one but 2 plushies on the podium. That would probably be my main motivation.

I do love a good ceremony. I never cry at movies but a ceremony gets me going.

The peace poem, the little EU nod, the space exploration story, this is getting emotional.
