A global market leader position, if not accompanied by malpractice by the leader, is seldom cause for concern.
Microsoft has the same position in the desktop OS market, Apple in the smartphone market.

The EU, for example, is concerned about them exclusively when they try to expand their leadership.

Because you said that "saying stuff like 'let's discuss communism again' does not help", followed by "sometimes it's good to cooperate, sometimes it's good to compete".

If you did not mean that, what did you mean?

Why do people expect Democrats to do something, when they didn't process the culpable people when they were in power?

Now why do you think that somehow in communism there's no competition?

These diagrams are amazing at explaining this.
Both to me, and to other people in my life.
Thank you, sincerely.

I don't know much about her, I only know that from now on I'll try listening to her, and I'll consider myself a fan - not of the musician, just of the human being.

What is populism, and what does the term actually mean? - BBC News We're told that populism is on the rise - but what exactly does that mean?

Yeah, and in our exchange it feels like you are said person, because the whole planet calls said kind of politics "populism" in a derogatory way. BBC says so, defining it a slur.

"helping the opposition" is not a real thing, when you talk about fascists: they don't listen nor read our sources.

Python Foundation rejects $1.5M grant with no-DEI strings : Foundation says it won't compromise policy of inclusivity even if that cash would've really helped

This is how you do it.

Python Foundation doesn't need to sell its own soul, because at the end of the day Python will be helped, one way or the other, by every entity that needs it for its own capitalist profits.

Alternatives will come, I'm sure of it.

I use, just like most of the rest of the world, the word "populism" in a negative way. Fascists are most definitely not "for the people", they just act like they do.
And it won't be us calling them populists or not the thing that makes or breaks them, IMHO.

Thanks for the illuminating exchange.

The original meaning (the Russian one, the ORIGINAL meaning) has little to nothing to do with the actual meaning.
The one you linked is still not related to the left, considering that the Democratic party, that absorbed their votes, back then was still a conservative party. Up until the 1960s. ðŸĪ·

Right-wing populism - Wikipedia

I referred to the common definition of populism, I am sorry if it isn't a commonly used expression, in my natural language it is.

I love the assumption that more money let people win elections, when party donations have always been a way to recycle money and buy political favor.

It's not that republicans understand politics, it's just that it's easier to be populist when your base is being populist. It's simple.

Oh wow, that's honestly so cool!

British folks I've worked with (mostly sales people, tech people, and IT folks) kept telling me "it's just the way it is" when I asked more info about whatever rule I had doubts about.

(I'm curious, if you'd like to answer: what are the remaining 3 languages?)

I do have this kind of knowledge in Italian, but my friends back home didn't keep any of it. Same thing with my IT colleagues in Spain, or most of the friends I made here - mostly in their 30-35 - they can't really explain stuff to me as a non native speaker.

I strongly believe this happens to most of the people who never learned any other language.
British folks I've met at work, Spanish folks I've met in Madrid, they don't really "control" their language - the ones who didn't study linguistic, at least.

After I got addicted to the crock pot food, years ago (living in a very small studio in London), I moved to the instant pot to make things quicker and less smelly (considering my crock pot was giving smelling delicious, but making my whole home smell like that).

Yeah, the reason your colonies all tend towards fascism is thanks to your awful colonialist culture - still strongly living in the minds of idiots in your country as well as the white coloni(ali)sts you put everywhere, in isreal too.
