This campaign has now ended, but there are still ways to help build a fairer energy system ➡️ warmthiswinter.org.uk
SWIPE through to explore the #WarmThisWinter journey from August 2022 to now, it’s been a rollercoaster of relentless campaigning for warm homes, cheaper bills, renewable energy and freedom from oil and gas.
We urge you to take a moment and read what we’ve achieved together 💪
NEW: 68% of UK health workers say high energy bills contribute to avoidable hospital admissions.
Our research in partnership with @warmthiswinter.bsky.social shows 45% have sent patients home knowing that their housing situation would make them ill again.
The Warm Home Discount and debt relief schemes are NOT enough if they’re still being funded by hiking up our bills. This crisis is a choice. And right now, it’s ordinary people paying the price.

✅ Ramp up homegrown renewables
✅ Fix our homes so they can be more energy-efficient
✅ Provide real financial support for those who need it most
This is the third price cap increase in a row. This isn't just 'bad luck'. It’s a broken system. A system where Ofgem allows suppliers to pocket even more profit while millions sink deeper into debt just to keep the lights on.
25.02.2025 15:29 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0BREAKING 🚨 Ofgem’s price cap is rising again. Another £111 a year added to bills from April.
Another increase. Another hit to struggling households. And why? Because gas prices are soaring and energy giants like Centrica and Norwegian-owned Equinor are making billions off our misery.

🔎 A Loophole That Cost Billpayers BILLIONS
Citizens Advice’s analysis of Ofgem data has revealed energy network firms have made tens of billions in profits. A specific loophole in Ofgem’s price controls has handed them an extra £4 billion windfall at the expense of struggling households.
This energy giant has made more than £9 BILLION in profits since the start of the energy crisis.
That could have taken £300 off every household's energy bill, but instead it goes straight into shareholders' pockets.
Unjust.
The energy crisis will continue until we no longer have headlines like these ⬇️

55% of homes in England and Wales are energy inefficient - more difficult and more expensive to keep warm.
No wonder one in five people across the UK are living in cold damp homes, facing serious health impacts.
We joined @friends-earth.bsky.social outside Parliament this week to demand better!
