So, not enough shift for a single tack; and we stayed further west for better sea state, which was getting to be a big factor in boat speed.

Made it to the bottom mark with a short tack along the coast, right up there with the boats we were chasing. Definitely a superb day of racing!

Forecast is a 15-25kt southerly, shifting to south-west, increasing to 30kt later in the day. We should be in the lee of Garden Island before the increased winds though, so shouldn't get the high seas associated.

If the forecast SW shift works out, we may get the long bit done in a single tack 🤞
